Day-by-day: Reparenting yourself with gentleness, love, fun, and respect.

Along the journey to reparenting, establishing a regular meditation practice is key! It doesn't have to be scary, and you don't have to stress about not knowing what to do. Meditation is quite simple. The idea is to be in a quiet and peaceful environment. Then to close your eyes and breath slowly. Be with yourself, your breaths -- in and out. As thoughts pass, don't engage them. Just imagine your thoughts are leaves flowing down a river. Notice them, but do not engage them. Start out small, perhaps 5 minutes a day. Then over time, slowly increase the amount of time you are meditating each day.
There are many styes of meditation, so start searching. The meditations in the daily podcast are music only, but there are also silent meditations as well as guided meditations. Guided meditation can be easier when starting out, as it gives you a place to start. If you enjoy male voices, I highly recommend Michael Sealey. If you prefer female voices, check out Mary Meckley.
Remember, bulding a habbit takes time. But the time you put into building meditation routine will pay off in ways you simply can't imagine!
Thanks for your support, and I hope you find this a safe and nurturing place for your recovery! We've got this!
Yours truly,
Khalil
