Along the journey to reparenting, one thing that can easily slip by unnoticed is..... dressing well. If you're struggling with CPTSD, OCD, AHDH, or any other condition that makes your mind a busy place, you might not have ever slowed down enough to learn to take care of your appearance, Looksmaxxing as some call it.
Taking care of your appearance is a crucial aspect of social psychology, sociology, and individuation. Dressing well can have a huge impact on your life. Looking good helps you feel good. Dressing in a way that reflects your personality also allows you to draw in your tribe more easily. Dressing well can even help you avoid social aggression, as you're giving of a more polished, confident, and put together image.
Some people see dressing well as superficial, but its so much more than that! Dressing well is taking care of yourself, expressing yourself, and demonstrating to people who you are and how you deserve to be treated. Whats more, dressing in a unique way can also be an open invitation to positive social interactions. A compliment, received by you or given by you to another, can open the door to an interesting conversation.
Remember, building a habit like dressing well takes time. But the time you put into paying attention to how you present yourself will pay off in ways you simply can't imagine!
